Advancing social policy

Aiming to enable social mobility in Israel’s geographic and social periphery, the Rashi Foundation combines its extensive field work in building capacity and social infrastructure with efforts to influence public discourse, national priorities and policy.
In order to promote policies that ensure equal opportunity, we work on several levels:

» Government relations – advancing municipal and national policies that strengthen social services in the periphery.
» Backing public policy initiatives – providing support, guidance, and professional training to civil society organizations, groups and coalitions working to promote policy change.

» Creating knowledge – drafting position papers and policy briefs grounded in research, as well as in the Foundation’s experience and expertise in various fields, including education, welfare and employment.
» Activism – initiating and guiding local and professional groups working to advance social issues through policy advocacy.
» Developing tools and training programs to equip the participants of leadership and management programs with the skills needed to influence policy.

Below are examples of initiatives representing the different channels of action.
