Developing solutions for treating children who were exposed to domestic violence and advancing women survivors of violence towards economic independence.
Support for victims of domsetic violence
In addition to the multi-disciplinary Aluma Centers for prevention and treatment of domestic violence, the Rashi Foundation takes part in developing specific solutions for victims of violence, both children and women.
Keshet
The effects of domestic violence on children have serious implications for individuals and society. However, the issue has not received sufficient attention and appropriate solutions are yet to be created. The Welfare Ministry, the Schusterman Foundation and Rashi have joined forces to develop a holistic model that will set the baseline for an improved and expanded solution for these children.
The initiative aims to design and implement a pilot program in five communities across the country, while examining its effectiveness and making adaptations for scaling up. Its main components are:
Treatment model – defining professional standards and best practices for therapeutic interventions involving children victims of domestic violence.
Organizational model – examining models for optimal operation within the municipal welfare services, in cooperation with the education and health systems to ensure treatment continuity.
Knowledge and data infrastructure – creating an IT system for managing the intervention and continuous development of the model.
Her Way
Lack of economic independence is a major obstacle for women wishing to start a new chapter in life. Knowing that gainful employment is the key to economic independence, we saw the need for career training that is adapted to the life circumstances of these women and the unique challenges they face.
“Her Way” is a joint initiative of Rashi and Google and the Welfare Ministry, with the support of the Schusterman Foundation and the Guardian General. It focuses on career opportunities in high-tech – a field with good job security and earning potential.
The components of the program are:
Preparatory program to strengthen qualifications (technical English, computer applications) as well as personal and interpersonal skills.
Professional training course to earn certification in high-demand fields.
Placement – introduction to potential employers and guidance during the application process and the first months on the job.
Social and personal support – group activity and assistance in overcoming individual difficulties.
